Herbs play an essential part in every life, they are not only a delicious addition to many recipes, they are also very healthy important in our lives. Whatever the size and shape of your garden growing herbs is a worthy pastime, especially if you take full advantage of them and use them in the kitchen. Herbs are very important ingredients for us, they keep us healthy and avoid many diseases.
Aloe vera is a plant (herb) member of the lily family and having the characteristics of cactus. It originally grows in northern Africa and there are more than 200 species of aloe vera but only four of them are well known and effective. It contains minerals, vitamins, amino acids, enzymes, sugars, hormones and salicylic acid. Humand have been growing it for thousands of years because of its’ very special benefits.
Many people use aloe to heal wounds, soothe burns, rejuvenate skin, or even help lower blood glucose levels. The fluid from aloe vera reduces pain and inflammation. You can also drink aloe vera juice to help you with digestive problems and poor appetite.
Overall we think that aloe vera is by far the best, best, best herb to have growing in our herbal garden, as it is one herb that people will be using all of the time.
How to make Aloe Vera juice?
Cut the ends of the leaf and the edges.You split the leaf in two half’s and fillet the clear gel out of the peels. Be careful not to contaminate your gel with the latex of the leaf. This is a bitter yellow/green juice coming out of the peelings. Then out the aloe vera gerl in a blender and add the juice of 3 to 5 oranges or any other kind of citrus fruit and blend it for about two minutes. After blending, put it in the fridge to let it settle at least for two hours.
